Fauna of Pellucidar 3 by Khialat Fauna of Pellucidar 3 by Khialat
One more page of creatures found in my personal version of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Pellucidar (see other pages here: khialat.deviantart.com/gallery…). After this, I'll get on with the actual story.

- GOROBORS - Cotylosaurs; used as beasts of burden by the Horibs, a race of sentient reptiles; appear to come in many species, with various colour schemes; omnivorous, they will eat plants or carrion
- TANDORS - Massive descendants of the Columbian mammoth; at 6-7 metres tall, they are bigger than all other known proboscideans
- TARAGS - Sabre-toothed cats; mainly live in high regions, for Jaloks have surpassed them in the jungles and plains
- BROGS - Lithe carnotaurs; dwarfed by the Zariths, they typically make a living on the tyrannosaurs' leftovers (These creatures were inspired by a request by :icongeneralhelghast:, who wanted to see something Carnotaurus-related)

See here for info on this fictional lost world as originally created by Burroughs: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pellucid…

Excellent. I hope to see Dire Wolves, Allosaurs, Sauropods and Hardosaurs in this soon.

Well, I might be able to put in the last two. But I think Pellucidar already has plenty of predators.

And Tandors...is that a reference to Tantor by any chance?

Well, that is the actual name Burroughs gave the mammoths in Pellucidar. It's certainly similar to Tantor, so I figured it would be a fitting reference to give them reddish hair :)

Great picture; as always, I love seeing ERB fan-art. :) The carnotaurs are a nice addition to the fauna of this underground world.

Thank you :) Also note how I gave the Tandors reddish hair, in reference to the elephants seen in Disney's Tarzan :D
